Update Time – All My Play Mates

by Charlie on January 23, 2012

Hello,

Mum tells me that she’s been very busy working on her new online magazine, Raising Love Consciousness, and so hasn’t had time to help me update my blog, until now - GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

But she has been taking lots of photos along the way.  So this post will be a gallery of selected photos taken over the last 3 months or so.

They are all of me and my play mates.

Also today is my birthday –

Today I am  7 months old and I now weigh – 19.5 kg – WEEEEEE

OK – now is the time for you to meet my Play Mates.

Nessie & Charlie – October 3rd, 2011

The first two go way back to October, when I was only 3 1/2 months old and Nessie was only 2 1/2 months.  This is my special friend Nessie.  She’s a a chocolate Labrador.  And Mum collects her from her home every Monday and Thursday afternoon and she comes home and we play together for an hour or so until we get tired.

Kodi & Charlie – November 4th, 2011

Kodi is my special friend and we’ve been playing together for the longest of all of my friends.  As you can see, Kodi is a German Shepherd and he is about 20 months old now.

When we first began to play, I was only a realyl little boy and so Kodi was a bit rough.  He kept bowling me over and walking on me.

But now I’m a big boy I can give as good as I get – well almost.  But we have such wonderful together.  I play with Kodi at the park every Wednesday and Saturday morning.

In these photos I was only 4 months old.

Kodi's after me :-)

I dropped it in here somewhere

"Your turn to chase me now Charlie"

 Tessie & Charlie – November 9th, 2011

Tessie and I used to play on different afternoons at the park.  When we first began to play I was only as tall as Tessie.  But now I’m over twice Tessie’s size and she doesn’t like me much any more.  But when she did like me we did have such fun chasing each other.

Look at my ears flying - I'm sure they must help me go faster

And the race is on!

My Special Day Out on the Special Day of 11th - 11 - 2011

This was my first picnic.  Mummy and some friends went to a beautiful place with a big look out, and a rocky mountain stream.  This was fun.  But come to think of it – just about everything is fun!

Why does Mummy always say I have the longest tongue she's ever seen?

The Mountain Stream is so clean and clear

Had lunch, had a play and a swim and I'm feeling a bit tired now

Our Normal Morning Walk – November 19th, 2011

Except for Wednesday and Saturday, when I go to the park to play with Kodi, most mornings we walk laong this country road.  It has the most wonderful long grass that I can really master my SPRINGING.  I really am a SPRINGER Spaniel.

Look at me fly through the long grass

Nessie Time Again – January 5th, 2012

For a while towards the end of November and well into December I couldn’t play with Nessie.  First she got a couple of paralysis ticks and couldn’t play with anyone for a couple of weeks.  She nearly died.  Then just as she was ready to play again Mum took me to have my “operation” and so I couldn’t play for a couple of weeks until the stitches came out.

But now we are back on track again and once again, every Monday and Thursday afternoon Nessie comes to visit for Play School.  Look at how big Nessie is now.  She is still 1 month younger than I am but she is now taller than I am.  How does that work?

Special Sunday Treat – January 21st, 2011

This is a really great day.  Mum has a friend who has moved to a cottage beside the river.  And her friend has a Blue Heeler, named Banjo, and an Australian Bull Dog named Zoe.  And so a couple of weeks ago, on a Sunday morning, Mum took me to play with Banjo and Zoe.

Then last Sunday morning we went back again and Kodi was there too.  So the four of us had such fun playing chasings and swimming together in the river.

Mum said we will go there on a Sunday morning whenever we can get there.

So I now have friends to play with every day of the week except Tuesday and Friday.  And even on those days sometimes Nessie comes down for Play School.

Banjo, Me, and Kodi water chasing

Sometimes a big stick is even better than a swim

Zoe is so lovely - Mum loves Zoe too

Zoe's come to join the Swimming Party. She is the oldest of us all

I thought I should give Zoe a kiss

Now it's just the three of us, Banjo, Me, and Zoe. Mum always calls Zoe home ZoZoLand

Well that’s it from me for a while.

That Lovely Doctor Again – 11.2 kg

by Charlie on October 11, 2011

Hello,

We went to see that lovely doctor again, Dr Justine, who gives me lollies [read Liver Treats].

I think I love her.

I had to have my last Lepto injection, because we have rats here in the bush.

Doctor Justine said the injection might hurt, but I didn’t feel a thing.  Probably because I was eating my lollies.

I also had to be given a once-over because Mummy has taken out medical insurance on me.  You’ll never guess the name of the Insurance company – it’s Bow Wow Meow Insurance.  Isn’t that a great name!

All the ladies at the doctor’s surgery love me too and cuddle me and say lovely things to me.

Then when we left, Dr Justine gave me another big cuddle and said she’d see me again in December for my operation.

I wonder what she meant by that?

Lotsa Love

Charlie

Hey, there's a puppy looking at me through the window!

PS; I was only 5.4 kilograms when I arrived at my new home .

I am now 11.2 kgs

My First Country Markets – 15 weeks old

by Charlie on October 8, 2011

Hello,

Well did I have some fun today.

We went to the country markets.  They are on each week up here but in a different place.  But Mum said this was the best because I could go swimming there as well as meet lots of new people – both four-legged and two.

And I did!

Just get a load of these photos

I got Mummy's friend from Puppy School to lift me up so I could look at the books whilst Mum took the photo - Do you like my Mowhawk?

This water is great and there is even sand on the bottom

Oh, I'm going back in again

Now it's time to "SPRING" out of the water, charge along the river bank then back in again

This time it's stick time

Yes we are Water-Dogs

Lotsa Love

Charlie

Just resting – 14 weeks old in 2 days time

by Charlie on September 27, 2011

Hello Again,

Just a few update pictures – whilst I finally have a rest.

No one will take my special piece of wood whilst I sleep

See I can curl up into a little ball like a kitty cat

And also stretch out. This is my bed beside Mummy's computer. So I sleep here whenever she's working and we can look at each other

The next photo is included because Mummy LOVES Kookaburras

Our Morning Walk – 12 1/2 weeks old

by Charlie on September 18, 2011

Hello

Twelve and a half weeks old and we are now going for walks every morning and most evenings too.

Oh I do love my walks so much.

In the morning, we either go for a walk along the dirt road that leads to our front gate.  That’s a 1.3 kilometer walk (return) and I get to see the big moo-cows in the paddocks along the road.  Mum calls them Moo-ers.

If we don’t do that walk we just walk up from the house to the front gate.  That’s only about 1 kilometer (return) but it is up a VERY steep hill.  So Mum said that when she is feeling lazy she prefers the longer walk where the Moo-ers are, instead of the shorter walk up the steep hill.

The following photos were taken today of our walk to the front gate.

"The Long and Winding Road" to the front gate

Alway plenty to sniff along the way

Even more to sniff!

Carrying a stick along the way is always fun too

When we get to the front gate we always spend some time enjoying the view - Mum loves mountains

Only 3 days later and I am NOW tall enough to drink out of the Bird Bath like Girlie did

The evening walk is also about 1 – 1.5 kms and if I’m lucky I get to see Tessie and we play together.  I’ll tell you more about that walk when Mum gets some photos of Tessie.

Lotsa Love

Hello,

In another week I’ll be 3 months old and Mum says I am growing so quickly.

Just look at my big feet – with my little body.

My big feet

See you can get a better look here and see that my feet are big for my body - I wonder if that's a good thing?

When Girlie can around the other day she tauight me to stand up at the bird bath.  When Girlie was here about 2 weeks ago I couldn’t even see in the bird bath because I was too small.  But now my feet reach the edge of the bird bath and I can ALMOST drink the water like Girlie did.

I'm almost big enough to drink out of the bird bath - won't be long now

Life is such FUN!

We went to see the doctor a couple of days ago so I could have some more needles and the lovely doctor also gave me some lollies [read Liver Treats] and so I didn’t even know that she’d stuck needles in me.  It was such fun and she is so lovely and she said such nice things to me.  Her name is Justine.

Oh My – My First Paralysis Tick

by Charlie on September 5, 2011

Hello,

I have been helping Mummy with the gardening over the past few days.  It’s been such fun and I do such a good job.  But then I guess everything is fun EXCEPT a tick.

The bad tick season here is Late August to Early November.

Anyway, we were both digging away in the garden when suddenly Mum saw that my eye was all funny and she quickly found a tick above my eye.

It was very tiny indeed and had only been there less than an hour.  But that was long enough to make me feel sad.

The white spot above my eye is where Mummy pulled the tick out from.  As you can see, she took a lot of hair too.

Anyway we checked it all out with the vet who said that it was a male paralysis tick – and they are not meant to be poisonous.  She also said that I was very lucky to be so sensitive to ticks because the swelling will always be easier to see.

But it’s a warning to my puppy friends because ever since I arrived Mum has been putting anti-tick drops on my head every 2 weeks and yet I still got bit.

Me and my swollen eye after the tick attacked me

Close-up so you can really feel sorry for me

Playing with Girlie – 10 weeks old

by Charlie on September 2, 2011

Hello,

Today some humans came to visit and they had with them a wonderful mate named Girlie.  She is a 3 year old Staffie and we had such fun together.

She is my favourite friend yet even though she was so much bigger than I am.

Mum told me that Uncle Monte Airedale’s favorite friends were always Staffies too.

I am really tired now – sleepy time!

Words I’ve Learned So Far

by Charlie on September 1, 2011

Hi There,

My Mum is teaching me to speak English, and I’m teacher her to speak Puppy.

So far I definitely know my name when I hear it.

But I’ve also learned what the following words mean:

*   Come

*   Sit

*   Toilet – I even go to toilet when I’m asked to.

*   Outside

*   No – I know what that means but I pretend that I never understand that word

*   And of course Charlie

Mum said that she has a whole list of more words that she’s going to teach me but we’ll take it step-by-step whilst I’m at Puppy School like our Puppy School teacher, Carol Jarman (Canine Traing School) said we should do.

Bye Now

Lotsa Love

First Day at Puppy School – 9 1/2 weeks old

by Charlie on August 30, 2011

WOW, was I ever tired after puppy school on Sunday  – August 28th, 2011.

I had planned to come home and tell you all about it straight away.  But instead I just slept, and slept, and then slept some more.

But puppy school was such fun.

We had to learn stuff like Come and Sit, but I basically knew those words already.  But the real fun stuff was playing with other puppies.  There was Raffie the “Red Dog”, a brown Australian Kelpie, and believe it or not a short haired Border Collie also named Charlie.  So it got a bit confusing when the other people called Charlie, ’cause I thought I had to go to them.

But playtime was really great and names didn’t matter then.  This was the first time I’d been able to play with other puppies since I left my brothers and sisters.

Here are some photos of us at play.

"Red Dog"-Raffie Kelpie, Charlie B Collie on left, and on the right ME-Charlie Springer Carnegie! I am the youngest in the class. Raffie is about 12 weeks, Charlie B Collie is 11 weeks, and I am only 9 weeks. But I can keep up with them all.

I'm chasing Raffie, and Charlie B Collie is trailing on behind

Charlie B Collie (on the right) and I are best friends - Aug 28th, 2011

Now time for a bit of R & R whilst we plan the next game - Charlie B Collie on right August 28th, 2011

We’re back again next Sunday – I’m sure lookin’ forward to that.

Lotsa Love

My first week at my new home – 5.3kg

by Charlie on August 25, 2011

Hello, Here I am again,

Today I am 9 weeks of age, and tomorrow, I’ll have been here in my new home for 1 week and there have been some big changes in my life.

I’ve met a whole mob of new humans and they still all love me.  And they are most impressed when at the age of a mere 8+  weeks I go to the toilet on command.

I’ve learned how to use the doggie door to go in and out whenever I want to.

I know that my name is Charlie and I NORMALLY come when called.

And I started formal home school lessons yesterday and I learned that click = treat.  And I’m meant to be learning how to sit on click.  But I prefer to just run in circles around Mum in a hope that I’ll get a treat.  But that hasn’t worked.

Meanwhile next Sunday afternoon I start puppy pre-school where I’m going to meet some new puppies to play with.  I’m sure they’ll be more fun to play with than Mum.  She’s a bit slow.

The big change in my life occured today.  For the first time I really started to feel at home in my yard.  And so instead of just slow exploration, I just raced and raced around the yard non-stop.   Then we went to town in the car this afternoon and for the first time I decided to stand up and keep a good look out the windows.  Whereas previously I just curled up in a little ball because I was not sure what was happening.

AND the big news today was that today was the first day he got dirty too – that was fun :-)

I’ll have some more photos after puppy pre-school.

Lotsa Love

Hello World – I’m Charlie Springer

by Charlie on August 20, 2011

Hi There,

I’m Charlie, Mummy’s (Dr Kashonia’s) new baby boy.  I just wanted to introduce myself and Mummy said I could use her email account to do that, because she has all the addresses.  I might even have my own email account soon.

Meanwhile, I do have my own blog already.  I hope you’ll go and check it out from time to time to see what I’ve been up to.  All good stuff, of course.    As you already know it’s   www.CharlieSpringer.com So if you RSS it you’ll know each time I’ve put up a new adventure.

Mummy has a blog too her blog is at http://www.Kashonia.com.com

Just a bit about myself

I’m an English Springer Spaniel – the King of the Spaniels.  But I was born in Brisbane, Australia, not England.   I’m 8 weeks old – born on June 23rd 2011.  Mummy says that our date of birth is very important and that I have a very special date of birth.  I’m officially a Cancerian but on the cusp of Gemini.  Mummy’s a Gemini too you know.

And yesterday my former family took me to the airport to fly INSIDE of a big silver bird from Brisbane to Cairns.  The plane arrived at 4.10pm, but I didn’t get to where Mum was able to pick me up until near ¼ to 5.

Then she gave me some dinner and a big glass of water and we went for some “wee” walks – she called them.  Finally I was able to get into the car and have a good long sleep.  We drove for almost the same length of time as the time it took flying in the big bird.  I wonder if we drove all the way back to Brisbane again?

Although I don’t think so because the air is fresher here and there is lots of green grass too.

Below are some photo that I thought you might like to see.   They are all labeled so that you know what they are about.

The following photo was taken just moments after Mummy took me from the crate.  Oh it was so wonderful to get out of there that I put my arms so tightly around Mummy’s neck and finally felt so safe.  And then we were both blessed by a big ray of sunshine beaming down on us both from the cosmos above.

Mummy and Me, just moments after she took me from the cage. See how the heavens blessed us both with that beautiful ray of sunshine

After a long night’s sleep last night, Mum and I have spent most of the day playing in the yard and sleeping.  We also met a couple of new humans.  Tomorrow we are going out in the car again to meet some other lovely humans.

So far everyone loves me – especially my new Mummy.

Bye Now
Love
Charlie xxx
